ABC (i've given it a "cool" name but can't think of it now) basically, it's alphaboxes. the kids list everything that goes with the topic for each letter---BUT they have to explain it... so in math, A could be algebra (solving for unknown variables), acute (an angle less than 90 degrees or a triangle with all 3 angles measuring less than 90 degrees) Snowball Fight! (we do a huge one with our math vocabulary) we type up all our math terms and then have all the definitions/examples---we print on recycled paper.... give each kid a sheet--they have to crumple it up and then they throw them at each other (snowball fight) i like to do this outside! and when i blow the whistle, they stop, find a sheet open it and find their partner--we sit in a circle and then share both. (we have to do it about 4 or 5 times to get through all!)
