right track

Clip to ScrapBook
I think that you are on the right track by asking positive questions. You don't want teachers to Vent or to think that you might be a complainer. You could ask if they have a favorite program at the school, what events do the students look forward to, what is the principals strength, does he/she have any special educational interests (some are into literacy, some into science, etc)..If other teachers also live in the same community ask about their experience living and working in the same town-it can have it's ups and downs. It means that you know people on a personal basis-a plus, it also means that when you are buying beer at the grocery store you see 2 or 3 families-a minus. Good luck-change is scary and refreshing at the same time.:)
