RR vs DRA

Our reading recovery teacher uses her materials to help us assess at the end of each quarter. I complete DRA assessments every nine weeks and she is more than willing to help. The only problem I have found when using her materials is the detailed comprehension section is missing. When she completes the assessment I usually only get a running record. I do not know if this is typical of all reading recovery teachers but you may want to check into this before you decide. I also like to use her kit for the odd numbered levels. Our DRA kit runs A,1,2,3,4,6,8,10,12... Her kit has a level 5,7,9,11... so we are able to show growth when a child is between DRA levels.
