Absences...

I pretty much do the same thing, but my absences this year have been so bad that if I didn't move on to anything new, we wouldn't even be as far as we are now (only 1/3 of the way through the books). I have started sending work home with the kids who are absent and making sure their parents help them understand the work, or else I keep them in at lunch and recess and teach them the lessons they missed. This is a terrible time of year where sickness is abound.
I found School House Rock and Magic School Bus are great educational videos to keep the kids still focused on learning.
