"curve"

Clip to ScrapBook
haven't done this in a long time, but have done what mango did--add to get to 100 and give everyone else the same. (the idea being, if the test was so hard even you smarties couldn't get a 100, they deserve a break.)

well,
that's "traditional" thinking. now, we need to look at WHY some kids "didn't get it". they NEED to get it. was recently at a conference and a speaker made the statement that assessments are tools for learning what kids know--not just to get a grade--it hit me like a giant rock. we need to make sure kids get that information that they didn't get.

if you want to offer
EVERYONE the same chance, review the skills covered on the test, return the test, allow them to redo and turn in for averaged grade. then the students that still don't have the information need remediation.
