Books By Sam5

I keep all kinds of books in my class. I have fifth graders. Many are ready to read more middle school level and maturity books. Some are not. I put in my parent rules and procedures the following statement:

Students will have silent reading time in which they can choose their own reading material. Students are responsible for getting their parents’ approval for the books they read.

This has basically prevented any problems.
