and LD. Definitely bring him up for testing. He may have the criteria for ADD with the Inattention type. According to the American Psychiatric Association's diagnostic manual, these are the symptoms of ADD/inattention (students
must have 6 or more):

1. often fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork.
2. often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly..
3. often doesn't follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork (not due to oppositional behavior or failure to understand directions).
4. often has difficulty organizing tasks

and activities.
5. often avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort (such as schoolwork or homework).
6. often loses things necessary for tasks or activities at school (e.g. school assignments, pencils, books).
7. often is easily distracted by extraneous stimuli.
8. often is forgetful in daily activities.
