This post sure sparked the debate, huh?
I think that any of us are just looking out for the kids, I'm sure you will all agree. We just want them to succeed. If we can make that few weeks before those stressful tests more
fun, with some great learning experiences, I think that is all anyone can ask for. jsfowler, I love your idea of a "survivor week". That sounds like a great time for the students, and the teachers.
And yes, my students aren't tested in 2nd grade, like they are in California. Third grade is the first year they test in my state. They are not familiar with the "layout" of a standardized
test, and I feel by letting them know what the test will look like, how long the test will take, etc... they will have a better chance of doing a good job.
