call parents

With repeat offenders, I find it best to have them call their parents everytime they forget to bring something back signed. They have to ask their parents to come to school and bring them the forgotton item. I find the parents get mad about being called during the day (especially if they are at work). Of course, most of the time they can not bring the item, but the parents become more proactive in asking their children at night what they are required to bring to school signed.
Parents that in the past made excuses for their child. "They're only in 4th grade and can't be expected to remember." and other BS change their tune when they are being put out.
