silent reading
By Marsha

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Sharon-I have had too much experience in being a "guest teacher." I run into silent reading frequently in grades one through eight. The kids really will read and enjoy it, if it is a tradition in the school district. I had 6th grade esl today and they had 15 min. of ssr. They actually did it. I can really be scarey when kids misbehave. I can really be nice when they are polite. Start insisting, threatening, punishing, and rewarding. It really works.
