progress report
By teachfla

Clip to ScrapBook
I use a weekly progress report that lists tests and grades (along with completed HW, behavior, and reminders.) The tests are stapled to the back for families to keep. When they return the signed progress report, I know they've seen the test. I keep all progress reports in kids' files, so if I haven't filed one in a while I'll call home to make sure they're getting seen/signed. Weekly progress reports are the first thing I tell parents about at meet the teacher. Most of my parents are so grateful to have a quick review of their child's week that I have no problems getting them back (it's also a great way to write notes back and forth.) I will take away recess for those that are lazy about it, but not that often.
