Covering for 2 classes in one room!!
By KL

Clip to ScrapBook
Thanks for the support during this awful day. It is difficult for one sub or teacher for that matter to cover for 45 students. Certified staff members are going to have to jump in and help out when there is a shortage of
substitutes. Districts could help out by advertising substutute shortages and paying subs more money. Teachers could help out by leaving a video to watch to be used when there are 2 classes in the same room. Many substitutes are denied any breaks. This could be illegal but subs are too hesitant to cross certified and tenured teachers. Of course when you cover for another class you are not
paid one extra penny. First year teachers are also given the task of covering for classes when there are no substitutes. Someday I will be tenured I guess LOL
