I was lucky to get a job teaching preschool right out of college. It was at a small private, tuition based preschool and I got paid in happy feelings with a few dollars on the side... but those two years of experience were one thing that helped me get hired in at my current 2nd grade position where I've been for 2 years. When I finished college in 2004, all we ever heard was how easy it would be for us to find jobs and about the "teaching shortage". HA!
