If this is something you can afford to go ahead and do, then go ahead...

However, as someone else stated, if you wait until you have a job, most districts will pay for the training and the test. Our district is requiring all teachers to be ESL certified by fall of next year. They are providing the training in-district and will pay for the test and the fee to add it to our certificates.
