Thank you all for taking the time to reply on this situation. You have some wonderful idea's on how to handle this. I just got off the phone this morning with one of the aids that was working in my room that day. She said| she saw this particular sub out last night with some of her friends at the pub and she was supposedly saying something along the lines of how she loved subbing at the schools in the resource room, because she never had to do any real work because she can just put them on the computer. I don't think this aid would lie about it, but I think I am just going to let this one go if that is | | the attitude this sub has. I will document, and the one aid said she would too, and keep that for future reference. Since her mother isn't the principal of the middle school or the high school, I am sure once some of the other staff go to their principals about it, something may get done. I hate to leave this problem for some other teacher, but I just can't go to the principal about this. She is our sub-corrdinator, and like I said before, we don't get along all that well. I only have a few months left before I leave this job and I really don't want them to be any worse then they already are. I am sure I won't be gone again unless I get sick a day or something...and if SPED staff is only sick for one or two days, no subs. And, nope...no requesting of subs. We have so few because we live in a pretty small town. I loved the suggestions of leaving the students classroom teachers packets for them to do! I will be putting a few for each student together immedaiatly! Super idea!!! Thank you all for your suggestions! If the sub really did say that, I wonder how she will feel when she has to sub for a whole class of students in a regular education setting (she has not, yet)? You can't put 25 3rd graders on a computer for a whole day!
