RE: Sub Plans
By Michelle

Clip to ScrapBook
Could you take your sub folder and the box of materials to the principal and just say something like, "Could you check something with your daughter for me? I left this material for her to use b/c I wanted to make sure she
had plenty to do with the kids. She ended up having to use a lot of computer time instead. Could you ask her what was unclear about the lesson plans so that I can fix it for the next time I need a sub?"

The other option is to just let it go -- especially if you aren't out often. If you have the option of leaving the kids in their rooms, maybe you could just do independent practice

packets and leave them with the regular teachers? I went after an aide who wasn't doing anything last year. It was a nightmare! I almost got fired for insisting that she puree the food for a child who could not chew (MAJOR safety issue!) and that she speak to the child as she was working with him since he was blind. I am now in a new school district (by my own choice thank goodness!). Really think about this before you decide what to do!
