ISAT pep rally

we hold one every year---not "scripted", we have a plan and kind of make it up as we go along....

our first year we just had teachers show the right and wrongs (stay up late playing PS, not caring/click on any answer...)

next year we had a Miss ISAT contest---all teachers were bad influences (i was Miss Bad Breakfast) and our principal did all the right things (she won)

the next year we did ISAT Idol and single or groups of teachers sang--we had 3 teachers be the 3 judges. most were "bad" lyrics and a couple teachers sang "good" lyric songs---the winner was a guy who sang

a take on "I Will survive"--"i'll take the test...i'll do my best..."

last year we were contemplating doing "Smarter than the ISAT" or something from that 5th grader show---but we ended up doing a spoof on Deal or No Deal---we called it Duh, or No Duh. i wish i could take credit for that name!!!!! we all dressed up in black dresses (well, women) and someone spray painted little boxes silver and we put phrases in them "Read the answer choices before the questions" "Don't read the passage" etc. we had a teacher who played the contestant, her family, and a howie-look-alike. we had cell phone for the banker and we had a powerpoint with amounts listed---i don't think it went how i would have done it, but you know those group projects....(i would have had the amounts go up for good choices and down for bad--but i think that was too complicated) anyway, the contestant opened each case and if it was a bad one, the teacher had to walk away---the good ones stayed up on the stage holding their case phrases. the contestant openened the final case which said "Do your best on the test" and that was the winning case!

our kids love our assemblies and look forward to how we are going to embarrass ourselves each year!
