At the school where I was, there was definitely a protocol for doing things, but I had a great time. They even offered me a job in the district, but not at the school. The teacher on maternity leave was returning. It was a great experience. I went on all the field trips, chaperoned school dances, and participated in all the other activites. Make the most of it. Just be careful of the perm teachers' toes.
