this for our grade level. I teach second grade and we are an AR school. In second greade we have "bookmarks" that have the child's name and book levels on them for each child. They are updated at least quarterly. I have had on occasion a child motivated to read a book above their reading level and we (the student, librarian and I) work together to make sure the child can get what they want. This has worked well for us in that children are reading in their level, taking books home that are in their level (hleps parents know what their kids are able to read independently.)
