with my 1st graders By teach2all

I play "Vocabulary Hot Potato", you put them in a circle. Pass around a ball, or whatever you have handy. When you stop the music, whoever is holding the object gives a definition, or sentence for whatever word you are on. You can also give the definition or some other clue and have them tell you the correct word.
I always go over safety rules before beginning so that they don't get too excited.
