SF Math By roo

This is our first year with the program. I am seeing good progress from my students but will reserve final judgement until I see Achievement Test Scores. It comes with TONS of materials-spiral review, problem of the day,| HW workbook, enrichment, vocab. cards, etc. There is SO much that it can be a bit overwhelming. I have to stick to the basic program components, since I only have a 50 min. period for math with each of the 3 classes I teach. We've also had some issues, since it assumes the kids have been taught certain concepts previously, but since we didn't use SF last year, some what is supposed | | to be review or already mastered is brand new to my 4th graders and I'm having to spend a lot of time reteaching. Hopefully this will be the last year for that since all grades are using SF now. Finally, the pacing is BRUTAL! I know it has to be to fit everything in, but the fact that we had one day to learn how to make change, one day to learn 2 digit multiplication(obviously I took longer)...It's outrageous! That's not SF's fault, though.
