SF Math
By roo

Clip to ScrapBook
This is our first year with the program. I am seeing good progress from my students but will reserve final judgement until I see Achievement Test Scores.
It comes with TONS of materials-spiral review, problem of the day,
HW workbook, enrichment, vocab. cards, etc. There is SO much that it can be a bit overwhelming. I have to stick to the basic program components, since I only have a 50 min. period for math with each of the 3 classes I teach. We've also had some issues, since it assumes the kids have been taught certain concepts previously, but since we didn't use SF last year, some what is supposed
to be review or already mastered is brand new to my 4th graders and I'm having to spend a lot of time reteaching. Hopefully this will be the last year for that since all grades are using SF now.
Finally, the pacing is BRUTAL! I know it has to be to fit everything in, but the fact that we had one day to learn how to make change, one day to learn 2 digit multiplication(obviously I took longer)...It's outrageous! That's not SF's fault, though.
