I am getting the Reading Specialist degree. I have to finish my action research project and then I'm done. I've already passed the state test and in Dec I finished the practicum. It was not easy to work full time, have
a family with 2 teenagers, and go to school. A lot of things suffered like some time with my kids, the housework, things at school, etc. I feel very free now without the added workload.
It has made me a better teacher to have learned more strategies, and to listen to my peers about how they teach things. I wish I had time to organize all the things I collected over the 2 years

to put it to good use in my classroom.
You may want to get a job first before getting the degree because it may be harder to get the job if they have to start your pay higher than another person.
Good luck with the Children's Lit class. We got to take a field trip to the local book store and got discounts that night!
