nice idea By Tatum

I love your idea of setting up a nice little area for her/him. Mine came on very short notice. She set it all up to work in a 1st grade and then they told her she would be in my room in 4th! I had one day to prepare.

Ugh. Oh well. I think I will surprise her sometime next week with a little desk area. I am also thinking of something I could give mine as a gift at the end of her stay in May...maybe a copy of my favorite strategy book...."Strategies that Work" and some copies of units that I have created. I did have my students apply their letter-writing skills and write her an autobiographical

friendly letter. They loved doing that and we also added in voice/word choice lessons with it. She loved the letters and is still in the process of writing back to them all.
