I volunteered...
By JKB

Clip to ScrapBook
When our previous principal planned his retirement, we all knew that interviews would be held for his successor. Our interviews for principals are conducted by a team that is composed of our Superintendant, a School Board
Member, another principal, and 2 teachers. I volunteered and was selected to be on the Interview team.

When the Interview was held, we had a list of specific questions to ask each interviewee. The questions were prepared in advance and they reflected different aspects relating to the position. For example, I asked some of the questions that would relate to the principal/teacher
scenario.

This was a GREAT experience! It was interesting to see how different candidates answered the same questions. After we completed the scheduled interviews, we discussed our reflections about each candidate. Ultimately, the Superintendent had the final say in the selection, but we all agreed unanimously with the one who was awarded the position.

Now.....three years later, I can say that I am proud to be on the same staff as our new principal...he's doing a great job!
