There's a way that you can go in and delete a test after they have failed it, so I tell my kids if they don't pass the test the first time they have to reread and take the test again, and continue until they do pass. They don't want to have to do that so they usually take the time to read it the first time. I also have a class chart in the room where the kids record the books/tests that they have passed. This keeps them motivated to pass tests. I also make them show me the book with the test to make sure it is on the book that they have been reading. I also only allow chapter books **except for my sped kids. Hope this helps!
