Be a risk-taker!
By ccteacher

Clip to ScrapBook
In 3rd grade, we have a fire crew that comes once a month and teaches fire safety to the kids. In May, they bring the fire truck and all the equipment and the kids have a muster (a mini fire/safety themed field day). The
firefighters extend the ladder on top of the fire truck and I don the official firefighter helmet and climb "X" amount of steps for each student who passes all of their math fact tests. (With a big, strong firefighter behind me the whole time - just in case.)

Will your principal let you get on the roof if the whole class passes? How about if you dress up/act silly one day? I remember
in high school, we had a teacher who would wear a clown wig and funny tie and ride through the cafeteria on a skate board playing a kazoo if all of the class got A's on a test. It didn't happen often, but when it did, everyone LOVED it!!

Be creative and have fun with it. Your kids will never forget!
