I am from CO too, and here, you can't major in elementary education. You have to major in another discipline(i.e. history, biology, etc.) You can minor in elementary edcuation though. Then at the end, you take the test(I took the PLACE, but I think it's praxis now), and get your teaching certification.
We have pretty nice weather, but we do definitely have all 4 seasons(sometimes in one day! lol). Sometimes though, it seems like we skip from summer directly to winter with no fall in between. :)
