cool map activity for Stanley

I use a smartboard with my class, and one of my favorite sites is www.iknowthat.com Anyhow, if you go there, then to social studies, mapping, there is an activity where you can track his travels with those little push-pins on the map. It's so cool and the kids get so excited to add his latest destination. Registration is free and it will keep track of your map(s). Each student could track their "Stanley", print it out and make a travel log.
AS far as your map making, try those paint rollers that have squiggly lines, or sponges to make the textures for rivers, mountains, valleys, forests....
