I love your ideas - I started last week by reviewing rubrics of just Ideas and we are practicing some scoring this week so they can see how it works. I don't have anyone in particular that needs focus on this area, but I felt it important to review each trait anyway for the new year.
My problem is, our district no longer wants us focusing on 6 traits and actual writing instruction - they want us to use the authors notebook method only and be pulling student samples from their notebooks to teach writing. Well, we are still tested on a writing prompt and students still need to learn how to write for that! I'm just struggling with the balance of it.
