there is one teacher By saraebeth

from my old first grade team who used to teach fifth actually and i'd LOVE her to move up here with me but I don't know if she wants to. It's 10-15 more kids in 5th than in first. In our district it's capped at 20 in K-3. That is one of the drawbacks to being up here.
I have my suspicions that the other teacher herself might put in for a transfer and leave the school. She isn't happy here and she's created a mess for herself. She has been talking about trying to get a job at the university and she kind of has an IN with a couple of professors that do some of their teaching on our campus (observing | | teachers with their students, video taping, and then discussing). The principal is planning to discuss the Gate certificate with her SOON. This teacher also offerred to bet "bumped" to another school when we lost a teacher the 2nd week of school because of low enrollment. Her friend who had just transfered was the one who got bumped and since she said "I don't have strong ties to the school anymore, both my kids have moved on, my partner of 12 years is gone, everything is changed, maybe it's time." The principal didn't go for that at the time. BUT, we may lose another teacher this year and she may volunteer to go and get props for doing so.
I just hope to start enjoying my job again... I made up a whole thing today for the kids for a new book report. They will make a podcast book report and we will have them on our website. It should be fun. I made due dates all throughout the time period so that I know they are actually working on it. Once I get our website and blog going again I'll post the link.
