Silence is Golden By nanz

This is something I am trying this year.

I taped library pockets to the corner of each desk and placed three laminated "golden tickets" inside each one. As I am teaching, if someone is talking I simply walk by and remove a ticket. I don't have to say a word.

I use the tickets as a visual reminder and warning system, similar to three strikes and you're out. When a student loses the third ticket, he/she also turns his/her card to the next color on the behavior chart and parents are notified.

Students who keep their tickets earn lunch with me in the classroom.
