Your best bet would be to contact your union and ask for their guidance. Previous posters have explained how things would work in their districts. That
I cite this example only to illustrate how important it is for you to get answers from your own union / district. Also talk to your admin and the interviewing admin. Often they will work together to make it possible for you to get a permanent job. Someone might be able to cover your class so you can leave early for a job interview etc. Good luck! :)
