using sick and personal days By teach72beach

Each district/state may be different. This is how mine works and I bet it is similar to yours. Personal days we get day one. In other words they are there (you will see them on your pay check or talk to the school book keeper)| from the first day you begin work that year. Sick days accrue one per month. You will see on your paycheck an additional day each month (and when you use one, one will be deducted from your total). You can use sick or personal days for anything including if you are sick, have an appointment or just feeling like sitting at home watching Dr. Phil. You do not have to justify why you are | | using them. Your school may make you find your own sub, then on your sign in sheet, they day you are out there may be a place to indicate why you need a sub. We mark P to deduct a personal day or S for sick. This is so your school's bookkeeper will deduct which day you wish to deduct. So as long as you have the days you can use them how ever you want. This is just me but I use personal days first. In our district if you dont use your personal days you can either turn them over to sick days or they pay you sub pay for those days (like $50.00 each). I always choose to turn them into sick days if I have any left. I hope this helps....:)
