    playdoh and paper work...

    Since the main idea of a physical change is that the "material" you are working with stays the same - its just its shape or form that changes, you can smash playdoh, or rip paper into a dozen pieces and then ask... "its still just paper, right?" I didn't change the substance itself. Thats a good transition to chemical changes whereby the material itself changes and something NEW is made. Ex. vinegar and baking soda with the off gas filling a balloon, or burning paper, that sort of thing. Have fun with it!
