I have the SMART and have used the Promethean By Margaret916

OK -- they are different slightly. Both do basically the same thing with different software.

The idea is that instead of using a mouse or pointer to control your computer, you're out from behind the computer/overhead/other device, instead you're in front of the class with the kids interacting with the technology.

Both smart and promethean have a ton of accessories (airliner (smart's tablet that writes on the smart board) active votes or senteo (the two company's products that the kids can vote/answer questions and have the answers displayed on the screen).
