Nat's post about the Breadwinner made me wonder what books you might be including this year in your reading class. I have read a few over the summer that I would love to do as a class.

Iqbal--story of child labor in Pakistan and the young boy (13) who exposes it (then later is murdered because of it)

Seedfolks--short read. about 13 chapters; each chap is about a different character set in Cleveland. This lot across from an apartment complex in a seedy area becomes a community garden started from a young girl planting beans in honor of her dead father.

City of Embers--people who have been living underground in this civilization due to war. Kids who were born there don't know the world any differently. No sun, just lightbulbs. 12 yr old girl main character and her friend (a boy about her age) try to find a way out. Part of a series.

    How about you?
