While I too, completely understand the need for education and accomodation for children w/ allergies, I think changing an entire school for one child is extreme. I guess the part where the teacher checks the lunch boxes and if someone has nuts/nut product in it, they are asked to go to the office to eat put me over the edge. If my son had the extreme allergy, I would ask that he have one spot to eat in the office, or some other place. I would feel terrible making the whole school accomodate my child.
Again, I understand being diligent as a teacher and monitoring snacks given in the classroom, but I would draw the line at telling parents what they can/cannot send in a lunch for their child.
