    They are different for goodness sakes!!! Why are people so scared to admit that? They are different, and they should be able to take pride in their differences! I am an African-American teacher teaching in a predominantly white school (not to mention an overwhelmingly white staff). I'm SO incredibly sick of the constant need/attempt to equate other cultural groups struggles to the experience of black people in America. It is just ludicrous. Thank you MentorTeach for so eloquently stating the difference. Give it a rest already...I will tell you that unless you are an African American living in America right now, you have NO idea-let me say it again- NO IDEA about the black experience. Stop trying to assume that you do.
