not really a policy... By PEPteach

This topic hits close to home, as I have a severe peanut allergy. My classroom, as well as any other classroom that has a food allergic child, is a nut-free zone. There is a peanut-free table in our cafeteria as well. We don't really have a policy in place, but I see the need for one. Obviously, I have a lot of control about what comes in and out of my classroom. But, for a teacher who might not know a lot about nut allergies and hidden foods, I would think it would be rather difficult to control without a strict policy in place. My students are well-trained and keep a watchful eye out for any nuts. ;)
