Kind of the same thing.

At the end of last year I told me school that I thought that one of my students should stay back for another year. Well the parents moved him on and he was having a really hard time. Everyone talked to the parents about it and they were fine moving him back down with me for another year. We told him that he is going to be a helper in the classroom.. He is doing so much better and next year he will be ready for second grade.

Good luck!!! I would show work that she is doing and a classmates work...no name on it. That way the parents can see what she should be doing.
