I must say, I completely disagree that it is wrong to bribe kids. In special education, I would rather call this finding motivating reinforcers to behave in class. I doesn't have to be candy, but it does have to be something extremely motivating for the kids. Make them work for the reinforcer and it can be a huge help to you. I recommend setting up the rules in advance in which they can earn the reinforcement. Make sure the request is reasonable so that they can succeed. This can be a huge teaching/learning tool.
