Been there... By yesteach

I had a fifth grade class like this one year - The small list disorders included: ADD, OCD, ODD, Tourette's, Asperger's and Bi-polar disorder (and those were just the ones that were diagnosed!) AND - just to make it interesting... it was a self-contained class of all gifted students! I was at my wit's end...so we invited our Boys' Town rep in to observe and offer suggestions... she stayed 30 mins and when we met said "OMG how do you do that everyday???" lol

Long horrid story short y I had only ONE sub who could deal with them, and her son was in the class (ADD/OCD), so i guess she could just understand how they functioned!

About the ONLY thing that worked was to keep them constantly engaged... I've tried to block the whole year from my mind!
