Our PTA does one, as well, and I am not sure of the company they do business with. However, I think that the gifts are way overpriced for dollar store junk, and it is always amazing to me how much money the parents send in to spend on this poor quality stuff. In my old school, children went during lunch/recess to look at the display, and they brought money in the next day. Only children who had money to shop went to actually buy. No class time was wasted. In this school, we are assigned a half hour (and my time is in the morining during prime learning instruction :mad:). I wish they would do away with it, but obviously, it is a big money maker for the PTA.
