ODD
By Tami

Clip to ScrapBook
Renee and others---I have been there. I have worked with children who are ED, ODD, ADD, ADHD, etc etc etc.....The thing that have found to work the best was a chart that was put on their desk each day listing the days activies
one by one. For example:
______ Got off the bus
______ Hung jacket and book bag on hook
______ Participated in math group
______ Walked to PE

These would be in the order you have for each day of the week. For each thing that they completed successfully, they would earn 5 cents. If they did not do what was asked etc, I would just put a line through it. At the

end of the day, I would add up how much money they earned and gave it to them in paper money that they kept in plastic baggies at their desk. If they lost it, too bad. It was their responsibility. At the end of the week, I would have a class store where the children could use their money to buy things like pencils, certificates for computer time, free reading time etc. Of course, you have to price things in a manner that they children can attain. It wirked well and the ED kids especially liked the idea of being able to buy something. I hope that this helps and feel free to e-mail me anytime.
