Clip to ScrapBook
at our high school we have students do community service. one of my students works at the hospital and shreds papers( a teacher assistant goes along). i also have others who fill vending machines, serve lunches at the nursing home, clean the bowling alley and daycare after lunch. some other ideas might be wrapping silverware for restaurants.
i have two students wo can not go into the community and work but they help in the cafeteria and sweeping. i also give them a schedule and jobs within the classroom they must perform.
let their IEP's guide you as some students can not go into the community for sagety reasons, health reasons, etc.
