    :) I think it all depends on the vigilance of the parent(s) and the attitude of the child. Personally, sadly :(, my DD tends to listen and respond better to other adults/people than she does to me as a general rule. Homeschooling her would have been a nightmare for both of us!

    IF a parent is doing it right, it is a full time commitment. Yes, you might be done in a couple hours some days but it might be all day on other days. I know parents/children at both extremes.

    Unfortunately, this will not improve unless the State or Federal governments impose some structure and/or guidelines. There are pros and cons to it BUT ultimately it is the responsibility of the parent to make sure things are done and done correctly.

    BTW, to answer the original question--although I do know of parents who have done it and done it very well, I have to say they are in the minority. So, my final answer--I am generally opposed.
