Clip to ScrapBook
I do as much work as I can during the school hours. I stay until about 4 p.m. My son plays football for 2 hrs/3 days per week so I grade papers in the cold, rain, heat, etc. while he practices. My papers are graded and
lesson plans are done by Friday.
I don't think that it's bad that a teacher doesn't want to spend their lives working. I'm not now nor have I ever been a workaholic. I do what I can do in the time frame that I have for made for myself and stick to it. My husband compliments me about not being stressed out and being more pleasant for the last 3 years. Once I set that goal for myself,
I stuck to it.
A happy, rested, well-adjusted teacher is a happy, productive teacher. Even though we are teachers, we still have to make time for ourselves, famiies, and friends. Teachers must remember that we are women first not machines. Set your goals and leave it there. Trust me, it's not going anywhere.
