Don't forget the Missouri River near Bismarck/Mandan where Lewis and Clark stayed. Lots of actual Native American Indian mounds and historical sites there. Of course the beautiful capital as well. Then on the eastern side of the state, you need to visit the Red River Valley near Fargo. Watch it meander its way northward to Canada. Stop at Pembina and look out over the prairie to see 2 states and 2 Canadian provinces. Watch the most beautiful sunsets ever anywhere in the state...especially in the fall.
