HI
I am a multi age teacher grades K - 4 and I can assure you that the planning will become easier as you get to know your kids. You may have a wide age spread but you'll soon see that many are at the same abillity level.
Often times I have an activity that has an easy componant, medium and hard. The kids can try to do any or all but they usually know what they can handle.

How long is your art period? You can do a continuting project or 3 shorties. There are several good web sites that list craft activites. Luckily for you the beginning of the year has many seasonal projects...fall, halloween,

Thanksgiving. There are many activities to do with those. Also do you have access to a kiln? My students love to make things out of clay. We have made dinosaurs, gargoyles, ourselves, clowns the list is endless.
