It sounds as though you need to sit down with the gen ed teacher(s) you will be or are working with. Collaborative planning is crucial in order to make (responsible)inclusion work. You should preview lesson plans prior to going into the gen ed classroom in order to accommodate for your students' needs.
Try reading journal articles in "Teaching Exceptional Children". There are always lots of insightful/practical suggestions you might want to use in the classroom.
